Insurance Claims
Although we do work for all insurance companies each insurance company handles their claims processing differently. If you provide us with your insurance/claim information it will greatly help to expedite your claim. Your first step should be to call your insurance company to file the claim making sure that you have your policy number available along with the police report number (if available) and the details of how/when/where the accident occurred. Below is a brief outline of how we handle claims once you have made your claim.
For insurance companies that we are a Direct Repair Shop for all we need is your claim number to start the claims process. When making your claim just advise your claims representative that you would like us to do the repairs and they will electronically send us your claim information. After you have made your claim you would then bring the vehicle in for one of our estimators to look at along with your claim number. At this point we will gather the necessary information that we need to complete the estimate. The estimate along with digital pictures will then be electronically uploaded to the insurance company for approval. At this time we will also pre-order any parts that will be needed in order to minimize the repair days for your vehicle and we will also give you an approximate time frame that the repairs will take. Once the parts are in we will call you to schedule the repairs and at that point you would make rental car arrangements. Once the repairs are completed we bill your insurance company directly for the repairs less any deductible or betterment charges. Deductibles are to be paid in full at the time of vehicle completion/pick-up.
NON DIRECT REPAIR SHOP CLAIMS
Many companies will ask you to get an estimate along with digital pictures to forward to them for approval. If you provide us with your claim information (i.e. claim number, claim representatives name, telephone/fax numbers or an email address) we can forward the estimate for you. Once we receive approval from the insurance company we will call to inform you of this and will pre-order any parts that are needed. Once the parts are in we will contact you to schedule the repairs.
If you have made a claim with an insurance company and they have already had one of their adjusters estimate the vehicle you would just need to bring the vehicle in along with a copy of the insurance estimate. Again we would pre-order any necessary parts and call you to schedule repairs once the parts are in. Please note that we are required to work off the insurance companies estimate but in many cases there will be additional damage found or parts needed once the vehicle is at the shop and torndown. If additional damage is found we will contact your insurance company for the necessary approvals and generally payments for supplemental damage are sent directly to the shop.
We do not have any free loaners or rental cars but we do work with several major rental car agencies that we can recommend. Please check with your insurance company when making your claim to see if you have rental car coverage. If you do have rental coverage you will need to find out the dollar amount per day you are allowed before making your rental reservation. The rental car companies can direct bill most of the insurance companies but you will still need to provide a major credit card as a security deposit in order to rent a car. Please keep in mind that most insurance companies will not authorize a rental vehicle for driveable vehicles unless parts have been pre-ordered and we can start on the repairs immediately. If your vehicle is heavily damaged and is non-driveable or there are safety issues (headlights/taillights non-functioning, doors that won't open/close, broken/blown out glass) you can get in a rental car immediately after making your claim and dropping off your vehicle at the shop. Once your vehicle repairs are completed the insurance companies expect you to pick up your car and return the rental vehicle within 24 hours.
